In KUKSA we use for testing a Tesla CAN dump as source (see #729) and use it to "create" VSS data entries that we inject into Databroker. As of now however we do not dump data in a file in some VSS_related format. In KUKSA we also have a provider that can inject VSS data entries from a CSV file (see https://github.com/eclipse-kuksa/kuksa-csv-provider) using this format:
I think from a COVESA/VSS perspective there are some different areas we could work on: Defining syntaxWe could agree on how we best should store/persist datapoints, i.e. what formats do we prefer - like CSV or JSON - and which fields we want to include. Also - should the contain absolute time or relative time like in the Kuksa example above? It would be great if the same file could be used to inject simulated data to both Kuksa Databroker and Vissr. ExamplesIf we have agreed on a data-format (file syntax) it would be easy for use to have a "vss-data", "vss-examples" or "vss-incubation" repo where we could store example files, or just to add a link to them if stored elsewhere |

We need to create or identify and document sample/example/test VSS datasets that are publicly available. I know they are out there, but we should bring them together and document. I would like to start an effort to do so. Thoughts?
