I really like the website format/design of https://www.humanvariomeproject.org/ because it’s really clean and simple, the banner has the important links and has color which draws in the eye. I think we could do something similar by moving the search variants bar down so it’s still visible on the site without having to scroll but it has a link to ‘Learn more about the BRCA exchange’ which would have links for scientists and another for patients (maybe the one for patients has more infographics) and another link on the banner to ‘Join the BRCA exchange’ so we can really light that map up! Keep the donors and videos on the homepage, but it’ll be a little bit lower.
Also the “search for “c.1105…” stuff in the search bar is a bit intimidating to a new visitor, maybe we can make it more welcoming. Although if the search engine only operates on those scientific and very specific searches then we don’t have much choice.
