Slowdown in recent versions

Starting with version 0.2.5 there is a noticeable slowdown both when loading and when using the Gitcomet app. Version 0.2.4 is much faster. I am using Linux Mint 21.3/Ubuntu 22

@miki018 Interesting, can you pin point what exactly is slower? Performance is one of the top priorities for the project, might be that we have introduced regression somwhere

When loading, I get the message 'Loading repository session' lasting about 1 sec. And the response to anything is slowed down. For example, the response to clicking on a commit is slow. With version 0.2.4 every activity is the speed of light. I don't use any extensions. By the way, I really like Gitcomet, and I also like Rust.

I tried it on the Windows 11(same machine), and it is interesting that there are no problems in terms of speed.

gpui-ce did some GPU (rendering) backend changes recently, so it might be that your Linux environment is using software rendering. I will add some more information into GitComet environment settings for the next release so we can track this down

v0.3.1 reduced the GPU usage on all platforms
v0.3.2 improved the startup times

Are you using git-lfs or git-annex extensions?

Your latest version works great. The problem was Vulkan GPU acceleration with old AMD cards. So not a problem with GitComet. Thanks for the effort and energy to make everything perfect. Greetings, Miki
