This turned up in QA with Jan - this could lead to problems in the future

This problem won't appear with auto-generated code so would require someone to mess things up manually in the database - seems like a bit of an edge case but in theory, could lead to problems.

Also, if count is set to nil, signing up isn't possible. If the count property is removed entirely, it will be re-set as soon as the code gets used.
