Description
Discussed in #5036
Originally posted by spanzetta December 16, 2025
I noticed that even if the (defauilt) max exposure value is 9000 msec (9 sec) using the RaspiCam (OV5647) the real exposure time is always limited to 0,97sec (less then 1 sec) and this is absolutelly too low during the night..
By doing some small research it appears that there should be not such limit ..and it seems it's related to the frame rate setting for taking snapshot .. with 1FPS the exposure is limited to less then 1sec so 0,97sec) .. but this 1fps setting that limits the exposure makes no sense
So - at the end - the limitation appears to be in Allsky software.. isn't it?
I kindly ask to developers to confirm the above and that it can (it will) be fixed in a new version
Thanks
PS
- Maybe this is also the cause of the issue described here (same root cause)
WARNING message about nighttime exposure.. during the day!! Why? #5033 - I've already read also the discussion at Autoexposure on RasPi Camera #3511..
