The 'configuration.json' file needs to be updated via the 'Editor' page in the WebUI.

Hi,
never change a running system!
I logged in the local WebUI and changed under WebUI Confuguration "Image sort order" and enabled Allsky map showing my camera. Local website is working, but remote website shows error as in the title. In Editor in local WebUI I can only choose configuration.json of local website. How do I get access to the configuration.json of the remote website?

Almost all the settings for the local and remote Allsky Websites are in the "Editor" page of the WebUI. If you don't have them enabled on the "Allsky Settings" page in the WebUI their configuration.json file won't appear on the "Editor" page as you noted.
I believe the next release of Allsky will tell you why the page(es) aren't showing up.
Whenever you update a field inthe remote Websites configuration file, that file is uploaded to the server, overwriting what's already there. That means you should NEVER manually update the file on the server - always update the WebUI copy.

A few settings in those files are also used by Allsky, like Latitude, so it appears on both the Editor page and the Allsky Settings page. For those variables, always change them on the Allsky Settings page, since it does error checking before uploading the updated file to the server.

Thank you so much for the answers and the background information.

Remote server and website are enabled and were working fine until I changed a few settings. I was supposed to make changes in the editor for the remote configuration.json file. Initially, I couldn't access it because the URL for the website wasn't filled in in the settings. Now everything is working again.

To be precise: I wanted the timelapse and keograms to be sorted in descending order (newest first). To do this:

But timelapse and keograms still sorted oldest first on both local and remote website. What do I wrong?

The "WebUI Configuration" Image Sort Order only applies to the order in the WebUI's "Images" page. It has nothing to do with the local or remote Allsky Website.

Likewise, the settings in the Editor page only apply to Allsky Websites, not the WebUI.

Your settings look correct, so when on the page in the browser, press SHIFT-F5 to force it to refresh the page.

What's the URL to your remote Website?

SHIFT-F5 didn't help. But I can see on other allsky-pages, that there some sorting from new to old (what makes much more sense, and should be default).
My cam is now at allsky-map. URL is https://spica-observatory.de/allsky/index.php

Update, I am not sure: never change a running system.
To update Allsky with keeping settings:

1. sudo systemctl stop allsky
2. mv allsky allsky-OLD
3. cd
4. git clone --depth=1 --recursive https://github.com/AllskyTeam/allsky.git
5. cd allsky
6. ./install.sh
7. reboot
8. local website will update automatically, all settings restored? Nothing else to do, sure?
9. and remote website???

@Radinkel, before doing those steps, run cd; rm -fr allsky-OLD if the directory exists.
2 and 3 are reversed.
Only do 7 if the installation tells you to.
Correct for 8.
The installation will tell you what to do for 9.

Allsky local install was easy. File sorting now as wanted :)
But after installing remote website via ./remoteWebsiteInstall.sh (all pre installation tests passed) I get:

I just checked your remote Website. It has the wrong imageName.
On the WebUI's "Editor" page, edit remote_configuration.json. It should have the correct imageName, so change some character in the file, like adding a space in the Owner field, then save the file. It should then be uploaded to the server with the correct imageName
