System Details

  • OS: Win 11 pro
  • Thorium Version 121.0.6167.204 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Problem
Video playback having a bright white- washed filter then played but clears away when scrolling through the site

Screenshots
In here I showed how it only occurs on YouTube web app installed through thorium, sorry for low quality as I'm recording this on my phone as it is not producible in screen recording-

In here I showed this issue occurring in GitHub website as well, only in thorium-

Additional Notes
It is not only in YouTube, it also happens on any video player in any site, including in GitHub here and it doesn't happen on other browsers or seperate video playing apps so I think its a thorium issue, not sure.

I also experienced the same issues, have you found any fixes?

Most likely involves MPO, DWM and HDR / SDR color management.

Temporary "fix" simple add to compatibility options of the EXE:
"Disable FullScreen Optimizations" so that DWM can color manage instead of a MPO plane of the hardware decoder without the proper color transform.

ps. maybe Alex could allow HLG in the color flag besides scRGB and PQ for HDR/SDR compatibility
