The examples here don't show how to install a web connector with Tableau Cloud, the hosted product.
Describe the solution you'd like
I'd like, if nothing else, a yes or no answer to the question: Can WDC's and this repo be used with Tableau Cloud. If the answer is yes, it would be great to include an example showing how to use it.

Add documentation for Tableau Cloud

To the best of my knowledge, you cannot initiate or refresh an extract powered by a Web Data Connector in Tableau Cloud's web UI. Based on my research, you can create the extract and workbooks with Tableau Desktop and then publish the data source/workbook to Tableau Cloud however Tableau Cloud will not be able to refresh that extract without the use of Tableau Bridge: [source]
When you publish to Tableau Cloud, as a security measure, Tableau Cloud can't connect to or refresh an extract created by a web data connector. To refresh some web data connector extracts, you can use Tableau Bridge. For more information, see When to use Tableau Bridge to keep data fresh(Link opens in a new window) in the Tableau Cloud Help.
All that being said, thank you for bringing this to my attention. I will leave this issue open until we improve the documentation in this repo to address Tableau Cloud by name.
