Using Windows Vista again, the other day I noticed something that I've never noticed before. When a window is active, the reflection intensity is set to maximum, but when a window is inactive, the reflection intensity seems to be lowered. I thought this may have been a difference with colors, but it isn't, it is strictly the reflection intensity. Which is strange, because Windows Vista does not seem to have a registry value governing reflection intensity, but I digress. I'm not sure if Windows 7 acts in the same way, it's really hard to tell.
In the dcomp branch, there is the "ColorizationGlassReflectionIntensity" registry key which of course, governs the intensity of glass reflections. For accurate effect, it would be nice if there were another registry key such as "ColorizationGlassReflectionInactiveIntensity" to set the intensity of reflections on an inactive window.
However, I'm not sure how much this would complicate things, or if it's even possible. But for accuracy and customization sake, this would be a nice thing to have built in. Here's some pictures below of where I cycled between two open windows to illustrate the difference. It's subtle, but it is there.
