RTS5209: Sony Memory Sticks are not recognized

I have an RTS5209 in my laptop, which supports Memory Sticks (the original memory stick/memory stick pro, not the memory stick duo), however inserting a memory stick pro into my laptop, macOS does not recognize it. Windows does recognize the memory stick so I know the card reader is working fine, and I can read SD cards in macOS. It's just the Memory Sticks in macOS that don't work.

I am running macOS 15.4.1.
