Solution found: RGB static color on PHN16-73 works via I2C-HID, not WMI

I have the same laptop (PHN16-73, Fedora 44, kernel 7.0.13, BIOS V1.26) and after extensive testing, confirmed that WMI methods 6 and 20 are dead ends for static RGB on this model — they return AE_OK but never reach the LED controller.

What actually works

The RGB controller on PHN16-73 is an I2C-HID device (ENEK5130):

Static color is set via ioctl HIDIOCSFEATURE:

Key findings

• WMI method 6 (static): AE_OK, no effect
• WMI method 20 (dynamic mode=0 with RGB): AE_OK, no effect
• USB HID (VID 04f2): not present on PHN16-73
• I2C-HID ENEK5130 via ioctl: ✅ WORKS for all colors
